The Knowledge Bank is a digital record of Hawke’s Bay and its people, and is overseen by the Hawke’s Bay Digital Archives Trust. Fittingly, the Knowledge Bank is housed in historic Stoneycroft Homestead, a Victorian-style colonial home built in 1875. Each year they hold an Open Day for the public of Hawke's Bay. Various organisations support this day.

This year, in March, Hawke's Bay Founders Branch Committee, completely out of their comfort zone, took up the challenge, and had a display stand.

With the help of committee members, President Paddy Bayley, and Secretary Richard Bayley, erected a gazebo to display Founders information. Display boards told the story of how NZ Founders Society was formed in 1939, and Hawke's Bay Branch in 1979. Also on display were the Bulletins, information brochures, the Branch programme. Bunting from the 40thAnniversary lunch in February, depicting the ancestors ships of all the current branch members hung nicely under the gazebo, making for a very colourful display.

It was disappointing for the organisers that the public did not support it as well as last year. However,  much interest was shown in the Founders Society stand, with many people considering joining. Hawke's Bay Founders Branch has already been asked to participate next year.
